Home / Copper
Copper is the chemical element with atomic number 29 and its symbol is Cu. Well known since ancient times, it is also called “red gold” due to its color. It is an industrial metal that has exceptional properties of heat exchange and electrical conductivity.
Being very ductile and malleable, it is easily workable and with the addition of other metals it can form alloys with remarkable technical characteristics (bronze, brass, cupronickel, bronze aluminum, nickel silver). This makes copper extremely useful in many civil and industrial applications.
Copper also has antibacterial properties, which allow it to inactivate different types of bacteria, fungi and viruses on surfaces.
